Qualicum Beach – I was delighted to see the story about local coffee guys creating their own compostible coffee pods (Jan. 22).I did want to clarify one thing, though. You can recycle any coffee pods if you really want to.Staples sells Terracycle Coffee capsule recycle boxes in three sizes. I buy the small one and it stores at least two months worth of my pods. When full, you drop the box off at a UPS drop-off place (in Qualicum Beach it’s the Memorial Compounding Pharmacy around the corner from Quality Foods). The box comes with return shipping prepaid. The box gets sent to a recycling depot in Ontario where all components are recycled. Sure it costs a bit, but it is better than sending them to the dump.
