Looking to Build a Career as a Coffee Makers Reseller?

What goes into a successful coffeemaker business? Aside from the universal business principles, you need the answer to one important question: What do coffee enthusiasts look for in a good coffeemaker? Espresso Deco lays out some insights.

1.  Think about how much coffee your customers want to make. Coffeemakers vary in the number of cups of coffee they produce. Capacity ranges from 12-cup batches to only a few cups. The latter would be the preferred option for professionals working in an office and families where only one or two people drink coffee.
2.  Do your customers want programming features? Depending on their needs, people will go for coffeemakers with different programming features. Those that want a coffee ready for them when they wake up in the morning will purchase machines with settings for brewing coffee at certain times of day. Others may simply want a coffee machine they can quickly brew a cup with.
3.  “Pause and brew” feature. Have a stock of machines that allow a coffee-drinker to sneak in a cup during the brew process without making a mess. This is a great for people who are always in a hurry.
4. Automatic shut off. It’s fairly easy for people to forget to turn off the coffee machine when you leave the house in a hurry. The good news is that you can offer your customers coffeemakers that have auto-power-off feature that switches off the maker after a default or set period of time.
5.  Water filters. The purer the water, the better the coffee tastes. Some coffeemakers feature carbon water filters that reduce impurities such as chlorine in tap water. However, customers that may not afford these fixtures can use filtered water for the best taste.
Additionally, with coffee machines that have reusable filters, there is need for purchasing water filters constantly. Care should, however, be taken to ensure that residue does not build up.
6.  A long warranty. While a vast majority of coffeemakers come with one-year warranty, high-end machines may offer up to three to five years.

There are a couple of other things that your customers will consider when they buy coffee machines including:

Glass carafe or thermal coffeemakers? The differences between glass carafe coffeemakers and thermal coffeemakers are:

-Glass carafe coffeemakers receive better reviews for durability and value

-Generally, glass carafe coffeemakers are less costly, but thermal coffeemakers are well known for producing better flavors

-Glass carafe coffeemakers are designed to hold more heat inside the insulated carafe. There is, therefore, no need for the warming plate.

Do your customers prefer grinding their own coffee? If your customers are coffee aficionados, then they will certainly prefer the control stand-alone coffee grinders provide.

In summary, it is imperative that you have your customers’ interests at heart and anticipate their needs so that you have a thriving career as a coffeemaker reseller.
